Day 7 of 41 Thank you Lord for Providing for me

TOvermiller said, "Here’s what you need to understand. Giving thanks to God is not just a polite thing to do or a habit you need to have to “be a good Christian.” When you know what you’re doing and you do it from the heart, giving thanks to God can be a very powerful moment in your life – every single time."

He furter went on to say, "When you give thanks to God, you uncover his greatness and goodness. You expose how good God really is – to yourself and to those who are around you."

“And my God will supply [o]all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen” - Philippians 4:19-20. We oftentimes claim these promises of verse 19 of this chapter and then ignore verse 20.

God provides for us in ways we can't explain yet we are never satisfied. We are selfish.  We always have entitlement spirit.

While writing this, the story of the Jesus feeding the five thousand people came to mind from Matthew 14:13-21. Look at the lessons below:

  • It was Jesus that was concern about the people. Jesus knew that the people were physically hungry though they didn't talk but He knew they needed food
  • The disciples were surprised at his concern cause they were overwhelmed by the multitude. They said, "How much food can we give this food in this kind of place, where do we get food"
  • Suddenly, a little boy came with his lunch perhaps and gave it to the disciples.
  • Wow! What will this do? The disciples said.
  • What he did next was amazing, Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he GAVE THANKS and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. Jesus didn’t complain. He didn't even ask for more. Jesus thanked God for the little they got.
  • Hallelluyah! The people all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. They had more than enough.

God indeed divinely provides for us. Most times, we ignore the little He gives and complains about what we don't have.

Bill & Gloria Gaither in one of their songs expressed;

There’s a room up above me I have good
place to sleep there’s food on my table
and shoes on my feet you gave me your love Lord and a fine family.
I thank you Lord for your blessings on me

Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, you've been there for us always. Forgive me for my inability to thank you enough. You do wonders. Thank you Lord for providing for me in diverse ways. You are more than enough Lord.

Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together. Day 1: God is My Portion There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will ...

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
