Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together.

Day 1: God is My Portion

There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough.

The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.”* This means that God is not just someone we run to when we are in trouble. He Himself is our portion—our treasure, our inheritance, our everything.

Think of it this way: if you had a big inheritance waiting for you, you would feel secure. But the inheritance we have in God is greater than gold, silver, or anything the world can offer. He gives us love that never ends, peace that nothing can buy, and joy that shines even in dark places. When we hold on to Him, we are never truly empty.

Even when life feels unfair, even when prayers take time to be answered, we can whisper like the writer of Lamentations: “The Lord is my portion.” That is enough to keep hope alive. You may not have everything you want today, but if you have God, you already have everything you truly need.

When you wake up each morning, remind yourself: “God is my portion. I am not lacking.” When worry tries to steal your peace, remind yourself again: *“God is enough for me.”* Little by little, your heart will find rest in Him.

Let your soul rest in this truth today: you don’t have to chase after everything. You already have the best gift—God Himself. And when He is your portion, your heart can live with hope, peace, and joy.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being my portion. Even when life feels empty, remind me that You are more than enough for me. Help me to hope in You every day. Amen.

Today, instead of focusing on what you don’t have, pause and thank God for being your portion. Write down three ways He has been enough for you, and let that fill your heart with peace.

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
