Day 22 of 30: The Lord is My Reward

Greetings to you Beloved,

Everyday gets better

Reflection: Serving Him is never in vain.

Verse:  After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. – Genesis 15:1

There is something so beautiful about knowing that God Himself is our reward. Not money. Not positions. Not applause. Not the things we gain from this world. But God Himself.

When God spoke to Abram, He did not promise him just wealth or land. He said, “I am your exceeding great reward.” That means the greatest gift is not what God gives—it is God Himself.

This changes how we see life. Sometimes we feel like serving God is slow to bring results. We wonder if obeying Him is worth it. We see others who do not fear God rising fast and enjoying pleasures, and we may feel left behind. But then God whispers, “I am your reward.”

What does that mean? It means nothing we do in Him is ever wasted. Every prayer. Every tear. Every act of love. Every sacrifice. Every quiet “yes” to Him when no one else sees. He remembers it all. And He Himself becomes our reward. His presence. His peace. His joy. His everlasting life. That is greater than anything this world can ever give.

Think about it this way: if someone offered you all the gold in the world but no God, what would it profit? But if you have God, you have everything. Because He is the source of every true blessing.

Life Application

Today, let us remind ourselves that our hope is not in what we can gain but in who God is. When we serve, we are not wasting time. When we obey, we are not losing. God Himself is our portion and our prize. Live with eternity in mind. Do not measure your worth by what people give or take. Remember, your reward is not small—it is God Himself.

Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding us that You are our reward. Teach us to see that nothing compares to You. Help us not to grow tired in serving or feel cheated in obeying. Fill our hearts with joy in knowing that You, the greatest treasure, belong to us and we belong to You. May our lives shine with this truth until the very end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together. Day 1: God is My Portion There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will ...

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
