Day 20 of 30: The Lord is My Defender

Greetings to you Beloved

Everyday gets better

Reflection: I don’t have to fight every battle—He fights for me.

Verse: The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. – Exodus 14:14

This journey of 30 Days Jesus is Enough for Us has been a river of strength and discovery. Each day, God shows us who He is in fresh and powerful ways.

We have seen Him as our Portion, Provider, Shepherd, Strength, Peace, Healer, Helper, Refuge, Rock, Comforter, Light, Redeemer, Friend, Hope, Rest, Father, Shield, Song, and Teacher.

And now, on Day 20, we meet Him as our Defender.

Life often feels like one long battle. We fight battles in our minds, battles in our health, battles in our families, and battles in the unseen spiritual world. Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded on every side, tired and too weak to lift another weapon. But here is the good news: we don’t have to fight every battle—God fights for us.

When Israel stood at the Red Sea, Pharaoh’s army was pressing hard behind them. They had no strength, no weapons, and no way of escape. But Moses said, *“The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”* And God did just that. He parted the sea, defeated their enemies, and proved Himself as their Defender.

God does the same for us today. He steps into the fights we cannot win. He silences accusations. He breaks the plans of the enemy. He covers us when people rise against us. He defends us in ways we may not even see.

We may feel like we need to explain ourselves, fight for our name, or carry every battle on our shoulders. But God says, “Rest. Be still. I will fight for you.” What comfort it is to know that the Lord Himself takes up our cause.

Life Application

Are you trying to fight in your own strength today? Lay it down. Some battles are not yours—they belong to the Lord. Trust Him to defend you. Trust Him to protect your name, your future, your family, your peace.

Instead of carrying every weight, step back and let Him step in. Whisper to your heart: “God is my Defender. I don’t have to fight alone.”

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my Defender. Thank You for fighting the battles I cannot fight. Teach me to rest in You and not to fear the enemy’s arrows. Defend me when I feel weak, and protect me when I am surrounded. I put my trust in You, my mighty Defender. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together. Day 1: God is My Portion There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will ...

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
