Day 17 of 30: The Lord is My Shield

To God alone be all the Glory.

Reflection: He guards me from the arrows of life.

Verse: But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. – Psalm 3:3

This journey of 30 Days Jesus is Enough for Us has been like a river of comfort and strength. Every new day we discover another side of God’s heart.

On Day 1, He was our Portion, reminding us we are never empty.

On Day 2, He became our Provider, meeting every need.

On Day 3, He gently led us as our Shepherd.

On Day 4, He carried us with His Strength.

On Day 5, He calmed our storms as our Peace.

On Day 6, He healed us as our Healer.

On Day 7, He lifted our eyes as our Helper.

On Day 8, He hid us as our Refuge.

On Day 9, He stood firm as our Rock.

On Day 10, He drew near as our Comforter.

On Day 11, He shined as our Light.

On Day 12, He restored us as our Redeemer.

On Day 13, He called us His Friend.

On Day 14, He filled us with Hope.

On Day 15, He gave us Rest.

On Day 16, He embraced us as our Father.

And now, Day 17 reminds us: The Lord is our Shield.

In life, arrows come from every side. Arrows of fear. Arrows of sickness. Arrows of betrayal. Arrows of sudden loss. Sometimes they hit us where it hurts most. Sometimes they come when we least expect it.

But God does not leave us exposed. He is our Shield. Not a small one that covers only part of us, but a mighty shield that surrounds us completely. He guards us when we are awake and when we sleep. He protects our hearts from breaking beyond repair. He covers our minds from thoughts that try to crush us.

David wrote Psalm 3 when he was running for his life. His own son, Absalom, had risen against him. Friends turned into enemies. Yet David said, “But You, O Lord, are a Shield for me.” That is the faith we are called to live in. To trust that no matter how sharp the arrows, they cannot destroy us because God Himself is our covering.

Life Application

Think today of the arrows you are facing—worry, sickness, pain, rejection. Instead of fighting in your own strength, picture God as a great Shield around you. Whisper to your heart: “The Lord is my Shield, He guards me.”

Rest in His protection. Even when life feels unsafe, your soul is safe in Him.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my Shield. When arrows fly against me, You guard me. When fears rise, You cover me. When enemies plot, You surround me. Teach me to trust Your protection and not be afraid of what comes my way. Lift up my head today, and remind me that I am never unguarded, for You are my Shield and my Glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together. Day 1: God is My Portion There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will ...

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
