Day 14 of 30: The Lord is My Hope

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

Reflection: Even when I see no way, He is my expectation.

Verse: “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” – Romans 15:13

Many years ago my mum, after using the portion of water leaves, said, “Don’t throw away the sticks. I want to plant them.”

In my head I thought, How can you plant sticks? No roots, no seeds, just dry sticks. But she carefully placed each one into the soil. She watered them faithfully, day after day.

And then boom—after some days, they started to grow! I was shocked. “How possible?” I asked myself.

That is exactly what hope in God feels like. Sometimes life looks like those sticks—dry, empty, and without promise. To human eyes, there is nothing left to expect. But when God, the God of hope, waters what looks dead, life springs forth again.

This journey “The Lord is Enough for Me” has been so refreshing. Let’s remember where He has brought us:

Day 1 – My Portion

Day 2 – My Provider

Day 3 – My Shepherd

Day 4 – My Strength

Day 5 – My Peace

Day 6 – My Healer

Day 7 – My Helper

Day 8 – My Refuge

Day 9 – My Rock

Day 10 – My Comforter

Day 11 – My Light

Day 12 – My Redeemer

Day 13 – My Friend

And now, Day 14: The Lord is My Hope.

Hope is powerful. It keeps the heart alive when everything else looks lost. Paul calls Him  “the God of hope.” That means hope is not just a feeling—it is a Person. Hope has a name. Hope is God Himself.

When dreams delay or answers seem far away, it is easy to feel discouraged. But God’s Word reminds us that He can bring life out of what looks impossible—just like those “sticks” that grew.

Life Application

Ask yourself: Where does my hope stand today? On people, money, or situations? Or on God who never changes?

Write down one thing in your life that feels like those dry sticks. Place it before God in prayer and say, “Lord, You are my Hope.” And remember—Hope is not an idea. Hope is a Person. Hope is God.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being my Hope. Even when life feels dry and empty, I know You can bring new life. Fill me with joy and peace as I trust You. Teach me to keep my eyes on You and not on what I see. Lord, You are my expectation, my living Hope, and I know You will not fail me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 1 of 30: God is My Portion

A recent song has really hit me, “OLUWATOSIN, JESUS IS ENOUGH FOR ME.” Each time I listen, my heart whispers back, Yes, Lord, You are enough. We live in a world that constantly pushes us to want more—more success, more money, more recognition. But deep down, the only true satisfaction comes from God Himself. That’s why I’m starting this journey: 30 Days of “The Lord is Enough for Me.” Every day we will look at one truth about who God is—our portion, peace, strength, and joy. Come along, and let’s rest in Him together. Day 1: God is My Portion There are times in life when we feel like something is missing. Maybe it’s money, friends, success, or even peace. Sometimes our hearts whisper, “If only I had this or that, then I would be happy.”*But the truth is this—things fade, people change, and life is never perfect. Yet, in the middle of all that, there is one unshakable truth: God is enough. The Bible says in Lamentations 3:24: *“The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will ...

Day 3 of 30: The Lord is My Shepherd

Greetings to you Beloved, trust you are doing well today. We began this journey with “The Lord is my portion,” then “The Lord is my provider.” Today, we see another deep truth: The Lord is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” What a powerful promise! A shepherd’s job is to guide, feed, and protect the sheep. The sheep do not worry about the path, food, or danger—they only follow the shepherd. In the same way, God leads us, provides for us, and keeps us safe. Sheep cannot survive without a shepherd. They easily get lost, they cannot fight off wild animals, and they cannot find good pasture on their own. That’s exactly why God chose this picture for us. Without Him, we are lost. But with Him, we are safe. Jesus Himself said in John 10:11, “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” He not only leads us—He gave His life for us. That is how much He loves us. Sometimes, life feels like walking through a dark valley. We don...

Day 2 of 30: The Lord is My Provider

Beloved, trust you are doing well today.  We started yesterday with, “The Lord is my portion.” Today, we are going a step further: The Lord is my provider. I don't know if you did as I did yesterday, in my prayers throughout yesterday, I kept saying "THE LORD IS MY PORTION." Life can sometimes make us feel worried. The bills pile up, needs keep coming, and dreams feel far away. We wonder, “Will I ever have enough? Who will take care of me?” In the middle of these questions, God’s Word gives us a beautiful promise: Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Notice what the verse says—all your need. Not some, not a few, but all. This doesn’t mean God gives us everything we want, but it means He provides exactly what we truly need at the right time. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Think of a little child. A good parent makes sure the child has food, clothes, and shelter. The child doesn’t sit and wo...
